Ok so 3rd in the series, Lust. This is pretty much Carmilla’s love, not much else to say. It’s inspired by Rococo era fashion (like Marie Antoinette era clothing). This period of fashion is considered to be whimsical, playful romantic, indulgent, compulsive and sensual which is why I chose it. It’s the perfect mesh of elegant yet hedonistic that I wanted for lust. The idea here was to captures Carmilla’s love as a whole, not just her sexuality. How her love started as a spark, it was passionate and instant, not a thoughtful slow burn. And it was dramatic and sweet and even though her father disapproved she was kinda allowed to do whatever she wanted up until official engagement. So it was a very self-indulgent relationship. The whole thing was just had Rococo written all over it. I think many would be familiar with the famous French rococo era painting “The swing” (or “The Happy accidents of the Swing”) and it pretty much conveys the flippant romance vibe I wanted here which is why I chose a light pink dress with a bold blue green stocking for contrast and to just balance the pink   submitted by   /u/Bellflowerpink [link]   [comments]
